Who we are

Built by
Boricuas. Run
on grit.

Project PR started when a Puerto Rican in the U.S. got tired of hearing the same calls from family and friends on the island: no water, no answers, and no help in sight. What started as frustration became action. Today, we're building a movement dedicated to delivering clean water when communities need it most and proving that Puerto Ricans take care of each other.

Mission

WE GOT TIRED OF WAITING

Project PR was founded by a Puerto Rican living in the United States who, like millions in the diaspora, still has deep roots on the island. Our family and friends live there. We've received the phone calls. We've seen the empty faucets, the long lines for water, and the uncertainty that comes every time the system fails.

For us, this isn't a headline. It's personal.

Every time Puerto Rico faces a water shortage, the cycle repeats itself. News coverage lasts a few days. Social media fills with concern. Officials make promises. Then the attention fades while families are still hauling water, filling buckets from rivers, and waiting for help that often arrives too late—or not at all.

After watching this happen again and again, we decided to stop waiting.

Puerto Rico's water infrastructure has been neglected for decades. Hurricane Maria exposed just how fragile the system had become, but the problem didn't start there, and it certainly didn't end there. Communities across the island continue to experience water outages lasting days and sometimes weeks. And too often, the hardest-hit neighborhoods are the last to receive assistance.

That is why Project PR exists.

We are not a government agency. We are not a political organization. We are people taking action for our community. Our mission is simple: deliver clean, safe water directly to Puerto Rican families when they need it most.

When a crisis occurs, we move quickly. We identify communities in need, raise emergency funds, and coordinate water distribution within 48 hours whenever possible. We focus on action, transparency, and impact—not bureaucracy, politics, or publicity.

Because access to clean water is not a privilege. It is a basic human necessity.

Puerto Rico is more than a disaster zone on the evening news. It is home. It is family. It is community. And every family deserves the dignity and security of knowing that clean water will be there when they turn on the tap.

Together, we can help ensure that no Puerto Rican family faces a water crisis alone.
